- is similar to James bond because the way the main character is represented is of a high status and is theoretically the best at what he does which is to be a spy/secret agent going behind enemy lines to kill the antagonist(evil) so that he can save the world from being ruled or manipulated by him. Also he goes through life risking missions, in which he runs for his life at the brink of death. The way that this also relates to james bond is that he works alone meaning he's left to his own devices its him and his goal to complete his mission.

Casino Royale
1. The formal wear conforms to the thriller genre because in the thriller films they are usually dressed in particularly smart attire which adds the effect of enigma to the actual movie in respect to making them look smart and honourable. Also the gun in the image has a suppressor on it to show that bond is a subtle agent and plays things smart in the fact that he doesn’t. Also to convey the movie to the thriller genre they use there typical James bond symbol (007) and make it into a gun which is a convention of the thriller genre. Also the language used in the title of the film make the film sound as if it is not cheap and is of value. This gives inspiration in the fact that to make our final product a thriller we know what conventions we need to use in order to hit that target and what kind of story line we need to create.
2. The character is represented as a well-known agent who is the best in his field of work to the fact that he goes alone on missions and gets all the ladies because of his good looks and charm. He appears like he carries a lot of respect with him as he has flashy cars and nice houses and everything just goes according to the plan. The codes do help him as he is most of the time wearing suits which portrays him as wealthy and of high intelligence. The girl is represented as mysterious as she is faded in the background which an eerie stare towards bond as if she is going to betray him or that she has something up her sleeve.
3. The way that this film is marketed is that they aim it specifically at their target genre which is the thriller genre, you know this straight away because the object bond is holding in his hand is a gun which straight away tells the viewer that there is going to be some sort of death in the film telling them that the film is a thriller film. Also they hide the bond girl in the background to spread enigma throughout the viewer’s mind because they now wonder what roles she has in the film whether she is a real bond girl of if she is somebody else. The reason why enigma is a good way to market this product is because the main theme throughout thrillers is enigma as is plays a big role in the murder mystery.
4. The film is very conventional as it carries a lot of mystery and murder and holds the idea of its now or never so this creates loads of drama and tension throughout the audience as the effect of time comes into place like is he going to make it or is he going to be late this makes it very conventional to the thriller genre as there is a dangerous situation that can only be prevented by a doing something life threatening this conforms to the genre. Also the film consists of killing and violence in formal where which is like the typical uniform of a thriller film. On the opening weekend of the opening of the film it produced a massive $40,833,156 which made it quite successful.
5. The way how this film is going to help us with the creation of our film is that it will allow us to take different techniques to build up tension and create a larger sense of enigma by having a character with a double personality when it comes to good and evil. Basically this will make the audience have conflicting views on whether she is a good character or not. Also the idea of having a protagonist and an antagonist is cool because everyone likes a good vs. evil battle and because it’s a thriller it’s not certain that good will conquer evil.
